1.618 – the meaning |
| 1.618 is also called the Golden Section Ratio or divine proportion and denotes harmony, balance and perfection. Scientists have recognised that this number 1.618 is the key to natural form and growth. It is known as the number of the universe as it appears naturally in humans, animals and plants. Artists have used it to bring harmony to their compositions and it is used in classical architecture to give symmetry. It is found in all aspects of nature and in the human body. Leonardo da Vinci used his drawing of the Human Body to raise our consciousness of this ratio. Pythagoras promoted it to mean ‘unity with the universe.’ |
